Air freight
Airfreight is suitable for the transportation of goods that need a short delivery time and minimal warehouse stock.
- Documents used in airfreight:
- Air Waybill or AWB;
- Manifest of goods;
- Commercial invoice or packing slip issued by the shipper.
- Good to know:
- Weight and volume ratio in airfreight: 1 m3 = 167 kg.
- The organisation of airfreight is based on the Warsaw Convention.
- In airfreight the carrier’s liability is up to USD 20 per gross kg.
- Air Waybill or AWB is an international shipping waybill, the number of which is used to identify the shipment. In addition to AWB a freight forwarder may also issue a House Air Waybill or HAWB.
