Transit procedures

Trucking FCL and FTL

CMR and TIR or transit declaration will be issued for the truck.
CMR must be approved in advance by consignee or destination broker and must be signed and stamped
CMR will be checked and stamped by the customs on the border. After crossing the border, truck must drive to customs warehouse.
Standstill in customs warehouse takse 1-2 days and truck must wait on the warehouse territory until cleared customs. Truck must stay on the warehouse territory until cleared customs.
After customs release, goods can be delivered to final consignee.
CMR + export declaration will be issued in the Baltic countries and import clearance will be made on the border. This is used very seldom.

Trucking LTL and LCL

LCL and LTL: shipments will be gathered to one customs terminal and CMR + TIR will be issued.

NB! All goods must be directed to one customs warehouse in C.I.S. This might cause problems as different consignees might prefer different warehouses. This means that some shipments can not be trucked together.
NB! Excise goods can not be consolidated with regular goods!!

Requirements for documents

Commercial invoice:
Each commercial invoice must contain the following data:

  • Seller
  • Buyer
  • Customs warehouse details in Russia
  • Country of origin
  • Contract number
  • Term of delivery
  • Container number
  • Description of goods in English and in Russian
  • HS code of goods
  • Number of collies/pallets
  • Weight
  • Value

NB! Invoice must be signed and stamped and approved by consignee or destination customs broker!
